About

Kaia Mori didn’t choose to lead a revolution—but now the fight for freedom is personal.

Hunted by the Citadel and hailed as the face of a rising rebellion, Kaia is caught between who she was and who the world needs her to be. When a mission goes horribly wrong, she narrowly escapes a deadly trap—thanks to her mysterious mentor, Dojo, whose past holds secrets darker than she imagined.

Then the Citadel unveils its most terrifying weapon yet: a device that can rewrite memories—and erase truth.

As Kaia rises through the ranks of the resistance, she begins to see cracks forming within. Friends are keeping dangerous secrets. Loyalties are shifting. And when Kaia discovers the Citadel’s twisted experiments at the heart of Central Command, everything she believes is shattered.

In a final, high-stakes showdown, Kaia destroys the mind-control device—but not without sacrifice. Dojo is captured. The rebellion is shaken. And Kaia must decide what kind of leader she’s willing to become.

A gripping dystopian saga of resistance, betrayal, and the power of memory, this installment propels Kaia Mori into her most dangerous battle yet—one that will decide the fate of truth itself.

Praise for this book

The tension in this book is relentless. The Citadel’s memory-rewriting device is one of the most chilling concepts I’ve encountered in a dystopian story, and it forced me to constantly question what truth even means in this world. Dojo’s role added a powerful emotional layer; his shadowed past and ultimate capture hit hard, and the revelations surrounding him made the story feel darker and more complex. I loved how the resistance itself isn’t painted as purely heroic.
